Transportation

Bus:
Take bus routes 333, 380, 389, 392, 396, 397, 399, 890, L94, or X94 to Circular Quay Stand E, then walk about 8 minutes.
Ferry:
The nearest wharf is Circular Quay, about 10 minutes' walk from the Opera House. Six ferry services stop here: No.1-5 Wharf and Harbour Master Steps. Choose different ferries based on your itinerary.

This is a Sydney landmark with beautiful interior design. The most disappointing part was when they offered to Photoshop a picture of you with the Sydney Opera House in the background - I strongly recommend against getting this.

The Sydney Opera House stands like a majestic sailing ship about to embark, carrying everyone's musical dreams towards the azure ocean. Its iconic exterior features three sets of massive shell-like segments perched atop a cast-in-place reinforced concrete platform. The first set of shells on the western side consists of four pairs arranged in sequence - three facing north and one facing south - housing the main Concert Hall within.

You can only admire it from afar, not up close. It's a must-visit spot for photos. In the afternoon, the view from the Harbour Bridge side has better lighting. If you're going in the morning, you should view it from the other side.

Avoiding the harsh sun and crowds during the day, it's really enjoyable to go in the evening to sit on the steps and feel the breeze. You can walk along the path around the Opera House to appreciate the harbor's night views. There are also many bars in the surrounding area.

The Opera House shows different characters during day and night - elegant and plain in daylight, vibrant and colorful after dark. In my personal experience, the Opera House has a more dreamlike quality when viewed under the night sky.
